英语是中国人的第一外语,是当今以至未来地球村人们交流与交往的重要工具。近年来,随着我国加入WTO、成功申办奥运会,将会更进一步加速外语的推广和普及,特别是学习群体呈现低龄化发展趋势。国内外语言专家和儿童心理学家一致认为,学外语要从娃娃开始。儿童学习语言具有极大的优势,模仿能力与机械记忆力强;发音系统尚未定型,易于培养纯正的语音和语调;儿童的好奇心促使其更愿意也更敢于运用和实践学来的外语。同时儿童学习两种语言,还有利于发挥儿童思维的灵活性,增强学习兴趣,发掘学习潜能,更有利于全面开发儿童的智力。\r\n 儿童学外语关键是要有好的教材、教法和好的教师。我们试图引入国外先进的教育理念,结合我国儿童英语教育的国情和实际,编写了这套《剑桥儿童英语》学习教材。为儿童英语学习提供一种全面、系统、科学、规范的学习方法,并力求教与学、学与考、考与用的统一。\r\n 本套教材编有《剑桥儿童英语》(第一、二、三级),与三级考试相对应,与剑桥英语五级水平测试相衔接。从我国儿童英语教育的实际和需要出发,同时编有《剑桥幼儿英语》和《剑桥儿童英语启蒙》,作为剑桥儿童英语入门、也可作为儿童英语启蒙教材。与教材配套有教参、教辅和教具;图书(全彩色)、CD(录音带)、VCD、CD-ROM多种载体配套出版、互连网远程教学辅助,是一套多媒体、立体化儿童英语教材。\r\n
